Kaidi Akinnibi

 

From his time in post-punk outfit Black Midi and working with many of the finest groups in the UK jazz scene, including Kokoroko and Mercury Prize winners Ezra Collective as well as Tom Misch, Wiz and Dave - its no wonder Kaidi Akinnibi's own music is so precise and eclectic.

Growing up in South London Kaidi developed his musicianship alongside his peers from Tomorrows Warriors and on the legendary Windmill scene in Brixton. His own rare style blends shoe-gaze, rock, punk and jazz via his distinct vocals and powerful, emotive, high energy saxophone sounds.

2023 saw Kaidi's first big impact on the scene, his live recording 'Real Enough' recorded before his sold out show at the Dalston Curve Garden, and an intimate session in the 5db canteen being notable highlights.

His debut album is due to be released spring 2025. We're excited to have the opportunity to see this rising star grace our stage!
