ARTS & WELLBEING PROGRAMME 2024
BEGGARS BELIEF
Scrumptious is a magical show about friendship and ice cream, with hilarious songs, dancing, storytelling and gentle audience participation - the perfect treat for families and anyone young at heart.
Beggars Belief are a collective of theatre makers, performers & artists from Lancashire.
OUTDOORS 4 ALL
Award winning Outdoors 4 All are our wonderful providers of activities you'll find deep in the forest.
They are passionate about working outdoors for the benefit of increased wellbeing & improved mental health for all.
Hanging out in Hammocks, marshmellow toasting & sitting by the campfire are all festival favourites.
LUMINAL
Luminal is a new audio visual project from a very talented Lancastrian artist & photographer
Derren Lee Poole.
Conceptually, the piece uses Derrens gestures as an artist at work, to generate
soundscapes live in realtime to his actions. The 30 minute performance will prove to be an immersive experience for the audience, watching the artwork being made to it’s very own unique soundtrack.
ATLANTIC CONTEMPORARY
ART
We are excited to team up with the organisers behind the hugely successful Clitheroe Contemporary festival, bringing a wonderful opportunity for all ages to engage in art.
Graeme Windle will guide all abilities through experimentation & use of different techniques to improve your practice & enjoyment of art.
ABIGAIL FIELDING STUDIO
Following the very popular
printing workshop at SeekOut 2023, Abigail will be offering the chance to experiment with lino printing, this time with an extra twist!!
Get yourself down to the Arts tent & make your own unique SeekOut souvenir.
MICHEAL NEARY
Mick is a poet who writes lyrical poetry, covering a range of topics including cheese, life in general, football, nature, WW1, anti fracking, the steel industry, romance and religion. Often inspired by the Lancashire countryside, weather & even the beautiful SeekOut Festival site! Keep an ear out as he'll be performing impromptu poems throughout the weekend.
Be in the moment...be grateful...be happy and most importantly be ourselves. Yoga allows us to be present and mindful of what's happening right now... not thinking about what's happened or what's going to happen. Practising yoga with children outdoors is a wonderful way for them to connect to the natural world.
At the forest, children will love lying on the yoga mat closing their eyes, feeling the breeze and the sun on their faces and listening to the world around them... the birds chirping, the swaying trees, rustling leaves and buzzing insects.
Georgina will be running a Yoga session for 3 - 10 yr olds, lets keep our
fingers crossed for the good weather!
Join Stacey McKenna-Seed from Rewilding Outdoor Therapy for a magical session of forest bathing. Stacey is an outdoor counselling therapist whose approach focuses on the mind-body-nature connection to empower and build resilience. The Japanese practise of forest bathing or Shirin-yoku, is the simple method of being calm and quiet amongst trees, observing nature, whilst engaging our senses. It can help both adults and children de-stress and boost health and wellbeing in a natural way.
The aim is to be mindful, taking the time and care to pay attention to the natural environment around us.
